Respected Sir/Madam,

(Kind Attn. : _____________________________ )

Sub: Rectification of mistake u/s. 154 for A. Y. .
Ref: PAN NO. .

I am in receipt of the intimation under section 143(1) of the I. T. Act, 1961 dated _______________ for A. Y. ________. On perusal of the same, it is seen that an amount of Rs.___________ is payable by me. In this regard, I have to state that the aforesaid demand has arisen due to :
1. Wrongly charged interest u/s.234C of Rs.__________
2. Short-credit of T.D.S. of Rs. ___________
3. Non-credit of Prepaid taxes of Rs. _____________
Thus there is no default in making tax payments in my case and no question of charging interest u/s.234C arise. This being a mistake apparent from records, you are requested to kindly rectify the same u/s. 154 of the I. Tax Act, 1961 and intimate accordingly. A copy of Income Tax Returns for A.Y. 2008-09 alongwith a copy of Form No.16 issued by my employer is enclosed herewith for your ready reference.

Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,

Encl : As above. ( ________________________________ )
